A Memphis Journal
Memphis City Watch is a journal about the economy and neighborhoods of Memphis and Shelby County. The journal presents facts and commentary about public policy and conditions for housing, businesses, population, land, facilities, and services in neighborhoods, Planning Districts, and the Memphis Metropolitan Area.
The Memphis "Metropolitan Area" contains eight (8) counties - Shelby, Fayette, Tipton in Tennessee; Crittenden in Arkansas; and Desoto, Marshall, Tate, Tunica in Mississippi. This area is the primary Memphis economy.

There are 20 "Planning Districts" covering Shelby County. These districts are used to provide the planning framework for neighborhood development, whether new or in need of renewal.
